Traversing life as it is—especially after some pretty major changes at the end of 2024 and into 2025—has made me realise the power of perspective. It doesn’t take a huge shift in how you look at things to make a dramatic shift in how you feel about them. A small adjustment, a different angle, and suddenly, everything changes.

I don’t know if that’s what Käse Kochen and Enrique Lazcano had in mind when they put together A Subtle Shift in Perspective, but if there were ever a record that could change the way you think—maybe even flip your whole outlook—this might be it.

Despite being on opposite sides of the world—Hobart and Mexico City—these two have tapped into something special. Their sound blends elements of techno, psytrance, neuro, and electro-house into something immersive and deeply moving. It’s the kind of music that takes you somewhere else—where that is, you’ll have to find out for yourself.
