The Aussential Mix is a monthly feature on Red Rebel FM (UK) and 2xxFM 98.3 (Canberra). Sometimes it’s a mix by Electronic Music Australia host, Ky Mi, but we love to shine a spotlight on Australian guest mixes from local and emerging talent by inviting local DJ's and Producers to feature as Aussential Mix guests.
The Aussential Mix isn’t just about great music—it’s an opportunity for DJs to showcase their skills and share their favourite Australian artists and tracks. It's just another way that Electronic Music Australia supports the Aussie electronic music scene and together we discover more fresh local sounds.

The February Aussential Mix was mixed by multi-talented DJ and Producer Joey Daye. From Brisbane, Joey had a successful pro NFL career before returning to his lifelong passion for music. His 2023 release 'Yerra (Soar)' made it into the top 50 Aria Club Chart as well as featuring in a number of advertisements (yes, really!). He has a new track out today (February 2025) called 'Underground' released under Sorta Kinda Music.
